It’s about time someone told the producers of musical tributes to well-known composers and lyricists that we are tired of hearing non-singers trying to do justice to such beautiful music. With so many excellent artists available, why do they keep forcing off-key, tone-deaf people on us? Also, why do even good singers believe they have to stylize to the point that some songs are hardly recognizable? I’ll bet that the composers cringe or turn over in their graves. What a shame to take music in the recent Irving Berlin special and degrade it. Fortunately, the music is so good that even the no-talents couldn’t make it a complete loss.
