Cerritos : $90-Million Budget OKd
The Cerritos City Council has adopted a $90-million budget for the 1988-89 fiscal year, with more than half the spending slated for Redevelopment Agency construction projects.
Nearly identical to this year’s budget, the spending plan earmarks funds for construction of a Community Arts Center, an outdoor sports complex, a freeway buffer wall on Windjammer Road, road work and expansion of the local auto mall. The Redevelopment Agency budget amounts to $59 million, and the city budget, $31 million.
In other action at last week’s meeting, the council named Bruce Barrows to the Planning Commission. Appointed by Councilman Paul Bowlen, Barrows, 41, is a district manager for a Glendale bookkeeping firm. He replaces Travis Snodgrass.
