Local News in Brief : Mission Viejo : Trustee Appointed to Commission of Colleges

Marcia Milchiker, a trustee of the Saddleback Community College District, has been appointed to the Commission on Legislation and Finance of the California Assn. of Community Colleges.

The commission monitors bills in the state Legislature that affect community colleges. The commission also studies possible long- and short-range solutions to community college funding problems.

Milchiker, who was first elected to the Saddleback Community College District Board of Trustees in 1986, has long held an interest in legislative matters affecting education. She currently represents the Saddleback district board on the Orange County Community College Legislative Task Force and is the founding president of the Orange County chapter of the California Elected Women’s Assn. for Education and Research.

Milchiker is vice president and director of research biology of Pacific Medical Management in Laguna Hills, where she resides with her husband, Benjamin, a physician, and their three sons.
