The Jane Fonda Apology

Share

Fonda’s apology was welcome, as far as it went. But I would be far more ready to forgive her treasonous words and acts if she would publicly condemn the cruel crimes against humanity committed by Vietnamese against Vietnamese in the years following the communists’ victory in 1975.

Why isn’t Fonda as vocal against Vietnamese aggression in Laos and Cambodia as she was against her own countrymen in 1972?

If Fonda--pampered, privileged and forever excused from military service by her gender-- really wants to make amends to those who chose to obey the lawful orders of our elected civilian leadership, let her devote some of her fame and fortune to raising funds for the legions of Vietnam veterans who need counseling, job training and decent housing.
