Governing Los Angeles County

Share

It was refreshing to read your editorial urging a more representative type of county government.

We have been stuck with this “rural supervisor” oligarchy too long. There should be a population limit so that when a county exceeds 500,000 residents a change should be mandated by the state.

Experience in other states has shown that an elected executive, plus a representative council, is a fair and practical change from the urban oligarchy we now have.
