Summer Hotel Specials Are Offered in Europe

Hilton International is repeating a summer discount program at 24 hotels in Europe and Israel through Aug. 31.

Based on double occupancy, rates are $98, $132 or $178, depending on the hotel. If you’re traveling solo, you’ll have to pay a 50% supplement.

These rates are guaranteed, so you won’t be affected by any change in exchange rates.

Among the cities with hotels having the $98 rate are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Basel, Strasbourg, Duesseldorf and Zurich. The $132 rate is available in Athens, Brussels, London, Milan, Paris, Budapest and Mainz.

These rates include service charges, taxes and a continental breakfast for each day of your stay.

Cardmember Discounts

Meanwhile, Best Western International is offering American Express card holders a rate of 30% to 50% off regular rates at more than 330 hotels in 10 European countries and Israel.

The discount, available Friday through Aug. 31, includes all applicable taxes and a continental breakfast daily.

Participating hotels are in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, West Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Israel, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

A list of hotels and their rates, from $62 to $106 per person a night double occupancy, are provided in a free “Europe for Cardmembers” brochure. This brochure must be shown at check-in, and you have to guarantee and pay for your first night with your American Express card.

European Chain Deals

Another chain to check into is MiniOtels Europe, which has about 600 properties in 20 European countries, including Spain, Switzerland, France and Austria. Rates at each hotel are $74 single, $99 double and $132 triple. One child under 14 can stay free with a parent. Service charges and taxes, plus complimentary continental breakfasts for adults, are included.

Extras are given at some properties, such as half a bottle of wine with your dinner at some hotels in Great Britain.
