Loni Anderson and Patrick Duffy are starring in a remake of “Leave Her to Heaven,” the 1945 film about a woman whose obsessive love for her husband extends beyond the grave. Gene Tierney and Cornel Wilde starred in the earlier version. The new NBC film also will feature Julie Harris and Glynnis O’Connor as Anderson’s mother and sister, respectively.

Valerie Bertinelli has been cast in the title role of “Pancho Barnes,” a three-hour TV movie for CBS about the Pasadena woman who became a leading aviatrix and stunt pilot. Bertinelli, formerly of “One Day at a Time,” will age from 18 to her 40s in the drama.

Three more Harlequin romance novels are coming to the Showtime cable channel. The first will be “Out of the Shadows,” starring Alexandra Paul and Charles Dance. It’s being filmed in Greece. Paul plays an American who works at the U.S. consulate in Athens; Dance is a detective investigating the murder of one of her friends.

ABC is planning another animated special featuring the Kingdom Chums characters. Their first one in 1986 dealt with the story of David and Goliath; in the show for next season, “The Original Top Ten,” they’ll use songs to explain the meaning of the Ten Commandments. Performing the characters’ voices will be Marilyn McCoo, Tony Orlando, Billy Preston and Debby Boone.

In the works for cable’s Disney Channel: a new concert by Raffi, the popular children’s entertainer; a third edition of “New Vaudevillians,” hosted by Harry Anderson of “Night Court,” and a three-part miniseries called “The Lawrenceville Stories,” consisting of two dramas already shown on PBS’ “American Playhouse”--”The Prodigious Hickey” and “The Return of Hickey”--and a newly produced sequel. Edward Herrmann and Zach Galligan star in the latest installment, which will be broadcast on PBS following its Disney showing.
