A 15-year-old girl said she was raped Sunday morning by a man accused of leading her across the border from Mexico, San Diego police reported. The rape suspect was captured by Border Patrol agents. The victim first met the suspect, Solomon Diaz, 21, in Tijuana, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. Diaz reportedly told the girl he could help her across the border, then took her to an isolated area in the Otay River bottom, where he is accused of raping her while holding a screwdriver to her neck, Robinson said. Diaz, of San Diego, was arrested by Border Patrol agents patrolling the area, who said they caught him in the act. The victim was taken to Children’s Hospital, where it was found that she is two months’ pregnant, Robinson said. Diaz was booked into County Jail on suspicion of forcible rape.
