Local News in Brief : Property Upkeep Codes
The Rancho Palos Verdes City Council introduced an ordinance that strengthens the city’s ability to enforce codes governing property maintenance.
The city code contains several scattered sections concerning the proper maintenance of property, but, according to city staff, this “fragmented approach” is often to blame for confusion and inconsistency among city departments.
The new measure--effective Aug. 4 if adopted, as expected, at the next City Council meeting Tuesday--”streamlines” code enforcement at no additional cost to the city, Environmental Services Director Robert Benard said.
