Local News in Brief : $1,000 Allocated for Bicycle Racks
The Rolling Hills City Council this week allocated about $1,000 of its Proposition A transportation funds for bicycle racks at each of the three entry gates to the exclusive community.
The council also agreed to give more than $7,000 in Proposition A funds to the city of Rolling Hills Estates, which can exchange them for federal funds to improve Palos Verdes Drive North next year.
Palos Verdes Drive North is a principal artery in Rolling Hills Estates and borders Rolling Hills.
Rolling Hills is a gated community and cannot use public funds for private facilities. The bicycle racks qualify for Proposition A funds, however, because they can be used by visitors to the city.
