The Chargers on Thursday concluded a trade with the Dallas Cowboys for wide receiver Brian Bedford, the Cowboys’ ninth-round choice in this year’s draft, Charger officials said.

Bedford, 23, was acquired in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick in 1989, a Charger spokesman said.

Bedford, who is 6-feet 3 3/4-inches tall and weighs 210 pounds, was the 232nd player selected in the April 24-25 draft. In 1987, he had 39 receptions for 515 yards and 4 touchdowns for California.

The addition of Bedford brings the number of wide receivers on the Chargers’ training camp roster to 14.

The group includes veterans Lionel James, Jamey Holland and Al Williams, and Anthony Miller and Quinn Early, the team’s first and third draft choices in this year’s draft.

Bedford attended McClatchey High School in Sacramento.
