Elderly San Ysidro Man Robbed, Slain

Police on Saturday were investigating the homicide and robbery of a 75-year-old San Ysidro man whose body was found in a large field behind his home.
Police were called to the 300 block of Calle Primera about 11 p.m. Friday when neighbors were unable to find the man, Harold Crane, Sgt. Jim Long said.
Police entered Crane’s home and noticed it had been ransacked. Long said it appeared that Crane had been strangled.
