Fireworks may have set off an 870-acre brush fire near Yosemite National Park, officials said. Some structures were threatened but no evacuations were planned, said a state Forestry Department spokeswoman. About 600 firefighters battled the blaze in steep terrain f1769366816Stanislaus National Forest, 10 miles west of the Yosemite boundary. Investigators said they found evidence indicating the fire may have been started with the use of illegal fireworks. Planes dropped fire retardant on the flames in an effort to slow its advance in the southern part of the Stanislaus Forest. Five firefighters suffered a minor injury, officials said.
