Five Sacramento-area residents were killed in a plane crash in central Idaho. The cause of the crash was under investigation Monday by the National Transportation Safety Board. The victims were identified as Arnold David and his wife, Marilyn, both 43; Carol Perez, 33, and two children of pilot Mark Mogol, Melissa, 8, and Adam, 5. The 38-year-old pilot was flown to the University of Utah Health Sciences burn center in Salt Lake City, where he was reported in critical condition with burns over more than 40% of his body, officials said. The plane was leaving Root Ranch, a resort in the Payette National Forest, when it crashed Sunday in a meadow near Grangeville and burst into flames.
