DETROIT —
An unemployed man shot and killed two of his sons and his mother-in-law, critically wounded his youngest son, then jumped into the Detroit River after telling a dockside security guard he had wanted to make his estranged wife “suffer,” police said today.
Michael Neal’s sons, Spartacus, 7, Jason, 5, and mother-in-law, Essa Mae Kent, 64, were found dead in their home Monday.
A 4-year-old son, Owen, was hospitalized in critical condition. Neal, 27, was arrested after police pulled him from the river.
