Harvey (“Torch Song Trilogy”) Fierstein applauds Playboy for making him its main interview for August: “For Playboy to publish an interview with an out-of-the-closet gay person, especially as screamy as me, at least shows a little responsibility.” But he also feels slighted: “They’re obviously a little embarrassed about it because for the first time, the name (of the interviewee) is not on the cover!” Not so, said a Playboy spokesman. “Such luminaries” as Cambodian Prince Norodom Sihanouk, Nicauaguan leader Daniel Ortega and actors Mickey Rourke and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been left off the cover when interviewed: “It just depends on the art directors and what works.”
