Norman M. Coulson was named chairman of Glendale Federal Savings & Loan, the principal subsidiary of Glenfed, a Glendaleholding company. Coulson, 55, also remains chief executive of Glenfed and Glendale Federal and vice chairman and president of Glenfed. As chairman of the S&L;, Coulson succeeds Raymond D. Edwards, who remains chairman of Glenfed.
Keith P. Russell Jr. was named president of Glendale Federal. Russell, 43, also was named a Glenfed director, and remains chief operating officer of Glenfed and Glendale Federal and as senior executive vice president of Glenfed.
Glendale Federal, with assets of $23 billion, is the nation’s fifth-largest thrift. It operates 218 offices in California and Florida.
