The University of Illinois accepted the resignation of Athletic Director Neale Stoner, who had been accused of improper personal use of gifts and services, and agreed to a settlement that will pay Stoner about $330,000 over the next 14 years.

The university athletic board also accepted the resignation of associate athletic director Vance Redfern, and reprimanded finance director Dana Brenner and golf course superintendent Conrand Stynchula.

The four, all of whom will make restitution, had been the subject of allegations that they improperly used athletic department employees to perform work for them. Stoner will pay $904 in restitution, Redfern $2,032, Stynchula $306 and Brenner $70.
