Lost Code led from start to finish to win the $300,000 Michigan Mile by 4 1/2 lengths and pass the $2-million mark in career earnings.
The 4-year-old colt covered 1 1/8 miles on the Ladbroke Detroit Race Course track in 1:50 4/5 for his sixth victory in seven starts this year.
“I never really asked him to run,” jockey Craig Perret said. “Lost Code just keeps on getting stronger with every race.”
Manzotti finished second in the six-horse field, followed by Momsfurrari, Protect Yourself, De Jeau and Noble Regent.
Lost Code started at 1-10 odds, the lowest in the race’s 40-year history, and returned $2.20, $2.10 and $2.10.
