As a retired graduate registered nurse, I was appalled by the showing of “Nightingales” on NBC. If this was supposed to help recruit future nurses, I am afraid it fell far short of its goals. What parents in their right minds would permit a daughter or son of theirs to enroll in a profession as depicted in “Nightingales”? According to the film, restrictions on students are more than lax. How great to leave classes, head for a bar and consume pitcher after pitcher of beer. In the future, please show something that will portray the nursing profession in a proud manner.
