David Glodt, former Los Angeles bureau chief for ABC News, has been named director of news coverage for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in London. Glodt replaces Paul Friedman, who returned to New York in February to become the new executive producer of “ABC World News Tonight With Peter Jennings.” Working more closely with Glodt will be ABC’s veteran chief foreign correspondent Pierre Salinger. Salinger, who has been working out of New York since ABC News closed its Paris bureau, will return to the London bureau as editor in Europe.
