International Business Machines Corp., frustrated with the slow pace of recovery in the United States, launched an overhaul of its U.S. marketing group. The Armonk, N.Y.-based computer giant said it had replaced its top U.S. marketing official, streamlined management and combined the two geographic marketing regions in the U.S. Senior Vice President George Conrades was named to a new position, general manager of the consolidated U.S. Marketing and Services organization.
