A new weekly farmers’ market has been established in Venice, with fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and fish to be sold each Friday morning.
The Venice Open Air Farmers Market, in a parking lot at the southeast corner of Ocean Front Walk and Windward Avenue, had its debut last Friday and is expected to feature from 25 to 40 farm booths each week. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The market’s opening day was “very well attended and very successful,” said Cheryl Noble of the Venice Action Committee, a group of area residents and merchants who organized the market.
One goal of the project is to “improve Venice’s image,” she said.
