Post-Modern Pizzas

Share

Caioti in Laurel Canyon is a wonderfully funky little place that looks more like a backwoods bar than a purveyor of posh pizzas. But now it has a new sibling on the Sunset Strip, Caioti Sunset, 8280 Sunset Blvd., (213) 656-2093, that perfectly plays the part of a post-modern pizza parlor.

It’s got sleek modern lines, a cool marble floor, framed menus on the walls. Hip music fills the air. The waitresses are slim and slinky. These pizzas are as eclectic as they come. If you can think of something to eat, they’ve thought about putting it on a pizza. The rest of the menu’s eclectic too. Pasta comes topped with spicy chicken and coconut cream, pork tenderloin is grilled with black beans and tequila-honey sauce, a catfish fillet with lemon pecan sauce.

The prices are reasonable (the only thing on the menu that costs more than $10 is New York steak, and that costs $11.50), and if you stay away from the more outrageous offerings, you’ll probably leave happy.
