Pan Am Loses $1 Million to Men Posing as Guards

NEW YORK — Three unarmed men posing as guards for an armored car company got away with more than $1 million in cash and checks from a Pan Am airlines counter at Kennedy Airport. The Pan Am employees did not realize they had been robbed Wednesday until the real guards showed up 15 minutes later.
