As Dave Cadigan, the New York Jets’ No. 1 draft choice and eighth pick overall extended his holdout to a seventh day, Coach Joe Walton hinted that the starting job at left tackle may be up for grabs.
“Traditionally, offensive linemen have the hardest time starting in their first year,” Walton said. “The fact other guys have been playing well puts him that much farther behind.”
Cadigan, a former USC star, returned to his home in Newport Beach last week after contract talks stalled.
