Share

Six Orange County youths will serve as good will ambassadors during the county’s yearlong centennial celebration. Beginning with centennial opening ceremonies July 31 at a bike tour starting at Anaheim Stadium, the ambassadors will speak to audiences, give out information at booths, and maintain a visible presence at more than 200 events through Aug. 1, 1989.

The ambassadors are Kathy Kim, 16, a junior at El Toro High School; Michael Levitt, 20, a sophomore at Chapman College; Maureen McFadden, 18, a recent graduate of Laguna Hills High; Elissa Pruett, 17, a senior at Canyon High; Shawn Roop, 16, a junior at Laguna Beach High, and Susan Tillou, 17, a recent graduate of Villa Park High.

Selection was based on an extensive application process, appearance, grade-point average, interview and a talent presentation.

“I hope I’m able to spread enthusiasm to all Orange County’s citizens for a great centennial celebration,” Kim said.
