Local News in Brief : Laguna Beach : Sewer Problem Closes Sleepy Hollow’s Beach

Share

A power outage at a sewer pump station early Sunday morning caused sewage to overflow into storm drains and into the ocean.

About 400 yards of beach were closed in the Sleepy Hollow area--near Legion Street, just southeast of Main Beach--and will probably remain closed for four to five days as a health precaution, lifeguard Lt. Mike Dwinelle said.

Lifeguards reported that power was restored and the overflow ended at about 1 p.m.
