Local News in Brief : Boy, 17, Wounded in N. Hollywood Shooting
A 17-year-old boy was in stable condition Sunday afternoon after he was wounded during a gang-related, drive-by shooting, Los Angeles police said.
The youth, whose name and residence are being withheld by authorities, was taken to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley after he was shot Saturday morning near Sherman Way and Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, police said.
Detectives are investigating the incident, said Sgt. Christopher Vasquez. The youth recognized the clothes worn by those who shot him as being similar to gang attire, Vasquez said.
