Two pedestrians were struck and injured by a car driven by a Simi Valley woman, who later was charged with drunk driving, in Canoga Park early Sunday, Los Angeles police said.

Roberto Ruedas, 55, and his 36-year-old son, Jose Ruedas, were walking diagonally through the center of the intersection of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Lanark Street about 1:55 a.m. when they were hit by the car, driven by 22-year-old Teresa Paisley, police said.

Paisley was charged only with misdemeanor drunk driving because both Roberto and Jose Ruedas had been drinking before the accident, said Sgt. Bob Farkas. Paisley was uninjured.

Both men were taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where Roberto Ruedas was in critical condition, said nursing supervisor Lois Colgin. Jose Ruedas was treated and released, she said.
