3rd Suspected Medfly Found

An insect tentatively identified as a Mediterranean fruit fly was discovered today in the area where aerial pesticide spraying was ordered following the discovery of two of the crop-destroying pests, officials said.
A county entomologist found the suspected fruit fly in a trap just north of Sherman Way in Northridge and identified it as a Medfly, said county Agricultural Commissioner Leon Spaugy.
