McClory was one of seven Republican members of the committee to vote in favor of the “abuse of power” article of impeachment against Nixon, and one of two Republicans to vote for the “failure to answer subpoenas” article. He voted against the “obstruction of justice” article.

McClory was first elected to the House in 1962 and served until his retirement in 1982.
