Brian Peck rode Comorin Cape down the middle of the stretch to score an upset victory in the $126,000 Mount Vernon Stakes for New York bred fillies and mares 3 years old and up at Belmont Park in New York.
The win was the second in eight starts this year for Comorin Cape, carrying a weight of 106, which earned $75,600 for Philip Dileo. Comorin Cape returned $42.00, $15.40 and $9.00. Miss Angel T paid $4.20 and $3.60, and Energy Square was $5.40 to show.
