Raiders May Trade for Bears’ Gault
OXNARD —
The Raiders confirmed Wednesday that they are talking to the Chicago Bears about wide receiver Willie Gault, amid indications that a deal is near. “There is a possibility Willie Gault could become a Raider,” Coach Mike Shanahan said.
The Raiders are thought to be offering only draft choices.
Gault, a former world-class sprinter, averaged 20.5 yards a catch last season and scored 7 touchdowns in his 35 receptions. He reportedly wanted $750,000 annually from the Bears.
