Critiquing Movies and the Folks Who Write About Them : An Initial Concern
The movie “Big” does not appeal to women because they want a 13-year-old boy inside a 30-year-old man’s body (“Reel Appeal for Women,” July 10), but because the Tom Hanks character is devoid of male chauvinism. Rather than feeling that men are superior, he accepts everyone for what they are, including women.
