Ballet Folklorico de Mexico Returns

Ballet Folklorico de Mexico will give four performances at Shrine Auditorium, Sept. 16-18, the company’s first U.S. appearances since 1978. The organization, which consists of five companies and a school, is sending a troupe of 65 dancers and musicians.

Founded by Amalia Hernandez in 1952 to preserve Mexican folkloric traditions, Ballet Folklorico has given more than 4,000 performances around the world. The Shrine program will include Hernandez’s “La Revolucion.”
