Heard about this hot new band with the improbable name of the Traveling Wilburys? Have you also heard the band is composed of George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne? It’s all true, confirmed Warner Bros. Records, which will be releasing the record--simply titled “Traveling Wilburys”--on Oct. 11, on the Wilbury Records label. Bob Merlis, Warner Bros. Records vice president of press and publicity, confirmed that the Wilburys actually does consist of those five stars, all of whom use the last name Wilbury. Harrison, the former Beatle who’s long-dormant pop-music career rebounded dramatically with last year’s Lynne-produced hit album “Cloud Nine,” seems to be the prime mover behind the project, but neither he nor any of the other participants is commenting publicly about it.
