A La Mesa man who sexually assaulted a would-be model after she answered his newspaper advertisement seeking photography models was sentenced Tuesday to eight years in state prison.

Jeffrey Allen Golden, 39, was also fined $1,000 by San Diego Municipal Judge Frederic A. Link, who denied probation.

Golden pleaded guilty July 5 to forcing the 18-year-old woman into oral copulation. A rape charge was dismissed.

“There is no question this is a prison case,” Link said. “He has a serious problem. . . . There is a likelihood that, if not imprisoned, he would be a danger to the community.”

Deputy Dist. Atty. Dave Stutz argued for the eight-year maximum term and noted that the county Probation Department made the same recommendation.

“He got over 600 calls from that ad. He used it as a scam to meet girls,” Stutz said after the hearing. “We don’t know (about) any other rape victims.”

While Golden was free on $50,000 bail, he became involved in an incident in May at San Diego State University, where he allegedly called up women students in the dormitories and solicited them to perform sex acts.

One student called campus police, and Golden was arrested when he tried to meet the student. Golden’s bail was then increased to $150,000, and he was again jailed.
