Kildare, Black Form a Winning Team at Los Alamitos
Corey Black, the meeting’s leading jockey, won four races Tuesday night, capping the performance by guiding Kildare to victory in the $25,840 Proud Sister Stakes at the Orange County Racing Fair at Los Alamitos.
Black moved the daughter of Flying Paster to the outside of early leader Just Rule, took the lead and held off Lady Lister to win by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:17 4/5 for the 6 1/2 furlongs.
The victory was worth $14,590 and was Kildare’s second in five lifetime starts. Kildare returned $8, $3 and $2.20. Lady Lister paid $2.80 and $2.20. Super Misty rallied for third and returned $2.40. The $5 exacta paid $56.50.
