Brain Aneurysm Killed Inmate, Autopsy Indicates
Results of a preliminary autopsy indicate that Orange County Jail inmate Enrique Ibarra died Thursday of an infection-caused aneurysm in his brain, authorities said Friday.
Ibarra, 35, of Santa Ana died in the jail ward at UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was transferred from the main men’s jail in July following a seizure. He had been arrested by Santa Ana police July 2 on suspicion of petty theft and vehicle tampering.
The preliminary autopsy by the Orange County sheriff-coroner’s office determined that the death was caused by the aneurysm, which is an enlargement of a weakened artery caused by disease or injury, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department said.
