“French Connection III”? Not if Eddie Egan--one of the New York Police detectives who cracked the original French Connection case in 1962--has anything to say about it. Egan is keeping the next part of the story--how the 112 pounds of heroin seized in the epic bust was stolen from the New York Police Department--for himself. The new film, which Egan is calling “Internal Affairs,” is being produced by Egan’s own Gold Shield Productions, and Egan said Sunday that shooting could begin in Florida this fall. The stars have not been selected--all Egan insists upon is that they have a drug-free background.
