Komatsu Ltd. of Tokyo and Dresser Industries Inc. of Dallas announced the signing by their subsidiaries, Komatsu America Corp. and Dresser Finance Corp., of a definitive agreement establishing a new joint venture for the engineering, manufacturing and marketing of construction and mining equipment, effective Sept. 1. The venture will be called Komatsu Dresser Co. and will have shared management responsibilities, initial total assets of more than $1 billion and more than 5,000 employees.
