Local News in Brief : Anaheim : 2 Teen-Agers Arrested After 120-M.P.H. Chase

Two teen-agers were arrested Tuesday after they led officers on a 50-mile chase from Anaheim to the City of Industry at speeds up to 120 m.p.h., police said.

Anaheim police began the chase about 1:33 a.m. they saw a reportedly stolen black Toyota going west on the Riverside Freeway at Lemon Street, officials said.

When officers approached the car, the driver sped away and led police onto the northbound Santa Ana Freeway. Police asked for assistance from the California Highway Patrol near Atlantic Boulevard in the City of Commerce, California Highway Patrol spokesman Ernie Garcia said.

A Los Angeles police helicopter also joined the pursuit as the car left the Santa Ana Freeway at 4th Street in Los Angeles, and then entered the Pomona Freeway heading east.

The chase ended about 2 a.m. near Fairway Drive in the City of Industry, where the car stopped. There were no injuries, police said.
