If you were thinking of checking out Elton John’s two shows at the Hollywood Bowl next month . . . it’s probably too late. Tickets for John’s shows on Sept. 23 and Sept. 24 sold out about 24 hours after they went on sale Monday morning--the fastest multishow sellout in the venue’s history. John’s two Hollywood shows are part of his 15-city American tour, which starts Sept. 9 in Miami. Playing with the Pinball Wizard this time around are EJ veterans Davey Johnstone (guitar) and Fred Mandel (keyboards), plus newcomers Jonathan (Sugarfoot) Moffett (drums), Romeo Williams (bass), Guy Babel (more keyboards) and a trio of backing singers.
