Two college football players and a professional baseball player face life prison terms for raiding a drug dealer’s apartment and kidnaping the dealer’s girlfriend in December, 1987.
Craig F. Henderson, 23, of Compton, and Mervyn Brookins, 22, of Sacramento, both of whom played for the Southern Oregon State College football team, and Parnell D. Perry, 22, of Sacramento, a triple-A player drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates, were among five men convicted by a Sacramento Superior Court jury.
The other defendants were Kenneth Trask, 23, of Compton, and Tommy Davis, 21, of Vallejo, Calif.
Sentencing was set for Sept. 27.
