Ermolenko Leads U.S. to Speedway Win
Sam Ermolenko of Cypress continued his impressive riding to lead the U.S. team to a 118-62 victory over a group of world-class riders in the U.S. vs. The World series finale Saturday in front of 7,180 on the half-mile track at Ascot Park in Gardena.
Ermolenko scored a team-high 25 points, winning twice and finishing second four times. The U.S. team won Friday night, 57-51, in races held at the South Bay Stadium in Gardena and won the overall competition, 175-113.
Kelly Moran of Glendora added 23 points and Ronnie Correy of Fullerton 22 for the U.S. team.
Jeremy Doncaster of Great Britain had four wins and a second place and scored 27 points. Teammate Phil Crump of Australia added 13 points.
