Art Rooney, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 87-year-old chairman and founder, remained in critical condition but appeared to be reviving from a stroke that put him in Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh last week.
“There’s no further deterioration,” Dr. Theodore Gelet said at a news conference. “That means he’s probably stabilized as far as the stroke is concerned.”
Rooney is moving his left arm and leg more, but paralysis in his right arm and leg has not improved and probably is permanent, Gelet said.
