Vice President George Bush and ABC registered wins at last week’s Republican National Convention, though low overall ratings for the coverage from New Orleans were hardly cause for jubilation among the networks. ABC’s 7.7 rating on Thursday--when Bush delivered his acceptance speech--edged second-place NBC’s 7.0 rating. CBS trailed that night with a rating of 6.2. Figures for the four nights showed ABC in first with an average of 6.7, followed by NBC’s 6.3 and CBS’ 5.7. A complete ratings list is on Page 9.

* “Remo Williams,” an unsold action-adventure pilot based on a 1985 movie about a government do-gooder, won’t be around come fall. With a 6.4 rating, it reached only 12% of the viewing audience.
