Actor Howard Rollins Jr. pleaded innocent Wednesday to charges of possession of cocaine, driving while intoxicated and speeding, but Rollins was not in the Baton Rouge, a., court to enter the plea. Louisiana state judge Freddie Pitcher Jr. agreed to let attorney Jim Boren enter the plea for the 37-year-old actor. The judge did not set a trial date. Rollins was arrested in March while he was in Louisiana filming the NBC television series “In the Heat of the Night.” A Louisiana state trooper reported Rollins was driving more than 100 m.p.h. on an interstate highway, and police said they found two bags of a substance that turned out to be cocaine in his car.
