Indiana Sen. Dan Quayle, the Republican candidate for vice president, will make a campaign swing through Orange County on Saturday.

Quayle will meet with 75 to 100 Orange County GOP leaders early Saturday morning for a private get-acquainted breakfast at the Irvine Hilton.

Orange County Republican Party Chairman Thomas A. Fuentes, who is in charge of the guest list, said he included Republican activists, donors and local elected officials.

At 10:30 a.m., Quayle will go to Leisure World Auditorium, 23822 Avenida Sevilla, Laguna Hills, where about 900 people are expected at a meeting that is open to the public.

Fuentes said Leisure World was chosen because it will give Quayle, who is 41, a chance to meet with senior citizens.

Besides, Fuentes added, “the Republican Club of Leisure World has a very fine telephone tree network. And, because of the proximity of the residents to the clubhouse there, in two days’ notice, it’s one of best places to quickly call together a Republican gathering.”

The final event of Quayle’s campaign trip to Orange County will be a noon rally at Lake Mission Viejo, Marguerite Parkway and Olympiad Road, Mission Viejo. The rally is open to the public.
